School History

Talbot First School Was built in 1873 following the decrees laid down on the Education Act of 1870.

It was built on the previous site of the 'Barley Mow' Public House, which was donated to the village of Kingstone by the 19th Earl of Shrewsbury of Ingestre.

Whilst benefiting from modernisation and extension in keeping with a modern Primary School, it still retains much of its original character.

Several generations of the same family have been educated at the 'Kingstone School' as it is affectionately known. Older family members are also invited into school to talk about the school and village life in the past.

If you have any old photographs that you would like to contribute, we'd love to hear from you!
